Tiramisu-Cups

I’ve always been big on presentation. It doesn’t matter if it’s just vegetables and rice on a plate or a decadent an delicious dessert like Tiramisu, presentation is so important!

These little Tiramisu cups are perfect for entertaining. You don’t have to worry about getting a cake knife and plates out, just serve and enjoy! Your guests will absolutely love these! And let me tell you, once they take their first bite, they’ll be completely amazed! They’ll probably be asking you what bakery you purchased these from! I promise this is the best Tiramisu you’ve ever had!

If you’d rather whip up a larger quantity, check out my slab Tiramisu recipe. What’s great about this recipe is that it’s made with lady finger crumbs which allows them to absorb the coffee flavor right away! I always hate waiting a day to enjoy the slab Tiramisu. Either way you present it this dessert is one of my favorites and I continue to make it year after year!

Tiramisu Cups

Ingredients

  • 18 lady fingers (I used Bonomi)
  • 7.5 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 egg whites
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 8 oz carton heavy whipping cream
  • 8 oz strong coffee (I used 2 Nespresso long espresso shots)
  • 1 tablespoon rum liqueur (I used Vana Tallinn Estonian Liqueur)
  • Cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar

Instructions

  1. Brew your coffee and add 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 tablespoon of rum liqueur. Set aside.
  2. Place whipping cream in a bowl and whip until it forms stiff peaks. Slowly add your vanilla sugar or add vanilla extract and sugar to your liking. Cover and set aside in the refrigerator.
  3. For the filling: In a mixing bowl, beat together 2 egg yolks with 5 tablespoons of sugar until mixture is white and fluffy. Add the cream cheese and beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Set aside. In another mixing bowl, beat the egg white with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Slowly add 1.5 tablespoons sugar. Fold this mixture into the above cream cheese mixture. (Folding the egg whites in will keep the composition light and fluffy!)
  4. Using a food processor blend the lady fingers until you get a fine crumb.
  5. Now you are ready to assemble. Place about a teaspoon of crumbs at the bottom of each cup. Spoon coffee over the crumbs until fully coated. Layer the cream cheese mixture on top. Repeat this for another layer. For your last layer add crumbs and soak in coffee one more time but top with whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder.
  6. Cover and store in refrigerator until ready to serve.
