I love recycling jars, wine bottles, canisters, anything that I can make into a DIY project!
I made this practical little coffee canister right before my husband and I went on a camping trip to Napa Valley. We were packing our French Press and I realized we needed something to put our ground coffee in. I remembered I set aside an empty canister of Coffee Bean’s No Sugar Added Vanilla Powder (which by the way is delicious for making blended coffees at home) and it turned out to be perfect!
It was so easy to put together, it only took about 10 minutes. You can pretty much use any fabric you like or have on hand.
I of course added twine and lace because I have so much left over from past DIY projects like my Rustic Lace Burlap Favor Bag, Vintage Key Embellished Gift Bag, Vintage Parisian Gift Box, and Mason Jar Cakes.
You really only need a few things and you might have a lot of this stuff on hand.
Materials:
- Old canister
- Fabric
- Lace
- Twin
- Scissors
- Super glue
- Stamps
- Ink pad
- Sticker label
Instructions
- Glue your fabric to the canister. Mine was a roll of fabric I found in the floral sections at Michaels and the width was perfect so you may need to cut your fabric to size.
- Next, glue one end of the twine down to the fabric. Wrap it around nice and tight as many times as you’d like and fasten the other end with super glue. Do this for the top and bottom of the canister.
- Cut your lace to size and glue down onto fabric.
- Stamp whatever you want written on the sticker label and glue onto fabric in the desired location.
